ISO 45003 certification marks EPIC’s commitment to psychological health and safety at work

EPIC Global Solutions’ commitment to people and performance excellence has been recognized with the receipt of ISO 45003 certification, the international standard for managing psychological health and safety at work.

The award is appropriately timed to coincide with the inaugural Psychological Safety Week (22-26 September), a brand new, international initiative dedicated to educating organizations on the importance and advantages of psychological safety, for both employees and employers.

Companies are awarded ISO 45003 status for effectively managing psychosocial risks in the workplace. It recognizes their commitment to employee mental health, wellbeing, and a safe organizational culture, aligned with occupational health and safety standards. This enhances trust, productivity, and legal compliance.

“The ISO 45003 recognition demonstrates that EPIC has put strong policies and processes in place to support psychological safety across the organization,” explained Charlotte Gadsby, senior consultant L&D at EPIC Global Solutions.

“It reflects everything from providing a safe and secure workplace through our health and safety practices, to ensuring robust Performance Development Reviews and regular check-ins between managers and their teams.

“It also includes the safeguarding practices we have in place, the wellbeing support available to everyone, the regular updates from our senior leadership team that keep us connected and informed, and the transparency we maintain in how the organization is performing.

“The Lighthouse [EPIC’s safe space for lived experience team members to speak freely about issues relating to their gambling past, with regular group check-ins] was also highlighted by the auditor as a particularly strong example of our commitment to wellbeing and support.

“Together, these practices create the foundations of a workplace where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive.”

These initiatives are being highlighted this week to showcase EPIC’s commitment to the values promoted through Psychological Safety Week. The new concept for 2025 – sponsored by The Financial Times – is devised, created and hosted by Pearn Kandola, a firm of business psychologists who have been transforming leaders, teams and organisations globally since 1984.

Co-founded by Professor Binna Kandola OBE, author of the upcoming ‘Building A Psychologically Safe Working Environment’, Pearn Kandola is driven by research-backed, evidence-based practice that delivers proven results.

The psychological safety created by EPIC for its people allows our team to thrive in an environment where sharing their vulnerabilities is pivotal to the company’s lived experience delivery method, with past examples of gambling addiction used to craft the education and training that we provide.

Visit our Safer Gambling page to understand how this underpins a raft of products that we can offer to the gambling sector, helping to increase understanding of problem gambling and reduce the risk of potential harm if the shared knowledge can help it to be identified and mitigated sooner.
