Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award nomination for EPIC CEO
EPIC Global Solutions CEO Paul Buck has received another accolade for the success of the company’s worldwide growth, landing a nomination for the Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award at this year’s Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
Like Dragons’ Den’s Steven Bartlett, Paul is a former winner at the event, receiving the Entrepreneur For Good Award for the North West & Yorkshire and the Humber region at the 2022 edition. It’s a further personal milestone, having also been the recipient of the Outstanding Individual Contribution to Safer Gambling award at the Vixio GamblingCompliance Global Regulatory Awards in 2024.
The ceremony dubbed ‘the Grammys of entrepreneurship’ will take place on Monday 17th November at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, where Paul will discover whether he has been successful against other entrepreneurs from the north west of England region in his category.
He’ll be going up against Dr Adedotun Owolabi of Less Is Adequate, Gabriela Lemoine from Accentus Language Services, Drill Surgeries’ Moises Barbera Ramos, and a dual nomination from Sonic Dental; Paul Horrocks and Imran Iqbal.
The vision that Paul first brought to life in Lancashire back in 2013 has grown into a worldwide operation – hence the re-brand to EPIC Global Solutions to mark the company’s tenth anniversary – and has become the globally-leading trusted partner for gambling harm prevention.
Working in partnership with household names from the likes of gambling operators, sports, education and other at-risk sectors to reduce harm, EPIC’s proven approach is grounded in personal experiences, providing real-world, relatable solutions for making gambling safer and more sustainable.
EPIC is now made up of a team of around 50 individuals from around the world who help to play an important role in raising awareness of gambling issues to help prevent them before they take hold and affect lives.
Reacting to his nomination, Paul Buck explained: “Whenever I receive a personal nomination like this, I see it as a testimony to the hard work of our team around the world for the impact they’re making.
“It isn’t about one person; it takes that collective effort to ensure that our core message of preventing gambling harm reaches those who need to hear it the most.
“I’m proud of the growth that EPIC has achieved in the past 12 years and our daily activity on multiple continents to provide real-world, relatable solutions for making gambling safer and more sustainable.”
Potentially a positive omen for Paul’s prospects of success is that the ceremony is timed to take place on the first day of Europe’s main annual awareness event for problem gambling prevention, Safer Gambling Week, which runs from 17th-23rd November 2025.
